This interior series came about because I wanted to recycle various older paintings. I used these older paintings as a beginning for new interior scenes. The best parts of the old work remained to show through and become part of the new.

There is some gold leaf left over from my sign carving days, so I experimented with using it alongside the oils. It was an interesting process, involving integrating the gold sizing with the oils and then laying in the gold leaf. The end result was a large piece, and later many miniatures.
